Fresh Web

So I decided today that I needed to get rid of that darn bird that I put in my original header as well as some other little details that all of a sudden started “really” bugging me. My website was busy eye ballin me so I took down the old graphics and put up new more modern images and colors. I was really getting sick of the cream, the damask and the bird, especially the bird. Funny thing is I love birds. I buy them and use them as little touches to my home, but I should have drawn the line when it came to adding a bird as part of my website design.

My favorite colors are greys, sage greens,soft teals and dusty blues. I find myself being really drawn to gray because I feel that way most of the time. I see grey in a lot of everyday things so maybe this is why I wanted to get rid of the previous overly happy and light colored site design. It was seriously beginning to bother me because I felt like it was no longer how I felt..I’ve changed.

I’ll have to have some changes made by my web goddess Arianne because frankly there are things that she can do that I cannot do with my images. I’ll be working on changing out my buttons this week from a cream to a grey so that everything flows better. I like the fact that I decided to use my own product images because this gives me freedom to change it when I feel like showcasing another new product or photo. I think simple is best in the long run..

New Site Design

The not so fun part is redesigning my business cards again. I was so proud of them and I received many compliments that it’s a shame that they won’t match my current site. O well, now I can obsess about those too. lol

BTW the bird in the Blog header’s days are marked.

{My Fun Day Today With Blythe Photography}

I volunteered to help a fellow Etsy seller out by taking pictures of her oh so pretty Tutu’s using my Blythes. The top one is my daughter’s, the bottom one is mine. I started collecting them about a year ago and I just love their big heads with the creepy eyes. Yes creepy. My daughter used to turn her Blythes around at night because she said that they “stared” at her while she slept….Riiigggghhttttt.

These are my first photos that I’ve ever taken of our lovely dolls wearing their fabulous tutu’s and I think I did a good job. Granted it was windy as heck and everything kept blowing away and tipping over but we managed.

My daughter pretended she was the stylist and I think she did a pretty good job at making sure they looked picture perfect.

{Berkeley Hills}

My friend Delia and I took a trip to the Berkeley Hills to take pictures of the awesome view. Delia and her Fiance found this place first and she decided to let me enjoy the view as well.

{Blue Water Ring}

I really enjoyed making this ring because I chose a different patterned flat stock to use as a band. I love this color stone..

Wonderful Customer Product Review

 It’s always a nice feeling when a customer leaves wonderful comments on something that they purchased from my shop. It really puts a smile on my face. I made this necklace months ago and it was pretty much a one of a kind. I didn’t write down a recipe for the enamel combination so when it sold, it was out of stock. Eileen emailed me expressing interest in this particular pendant and I got kind of nervous because I wasn’t quite sure that I could recreate it.

After a couple tries I got it and made sure I wrote down my recipe this time. I’m so happy that she loved it.
Customer Review

Such a nice day today…

It was so nice to wake up and hear the birds chirping and see the sun shining brightly. A perfect day to…..go into the dark garage and fill my orders. I set aside today to get some new projects started on and to fill new orders that came in this week. I’ve urged my kids to go outside and soak up the sun but everyone’s so tired from a week of being sick, we all feel pretty drained. My daughter’s turning into a little old lady as she talks of aches and pains. My son is obsessing about his gaming computer that I had to reformat this morning and he’s impatiently waiting for me to re-load all of his programs onto the system. ugh Not what I really feel like doing this fine Saturday.

Anyway, I took a nice shot of my pretty little tree in my backyard..The sky is so blue that I may have to forget about doing orders today and just get out and enjoy the day…

Nice Day

{Green Amethyst Ring}

I’m so proud of how this ring came out. It was a long process but I decided that I was going to put this pretty gem to good use. Since I’m self taught, I end up having to do things over and over and over until it comes out right. Even though I do waste materials by trial and error, the finished results are always worth it.

I made this bezel and setting and made sure that my brazed joins were invisible when I was finished. I buffed the ring to a high shine then gave it a soft brushing with a brush. My only regret with this ring is that I should have purchased more stones in bulk because this one is now one of a kind and cannot be re made. Sigh.. :-(

{Welcome} my new personal blog is up.

I’m glad it’s finished so I can add little personal tid bits about me and show images of my works in progress. I have my main blog …Anything Indie that I use to write about other Indie artists and fabulous finds. I’ve never felt comfortable showing my work on that blog for the main reason that it’s meant for “others”, not me. So I made this little ole blog for me.
